The image of family is very important. OPPC is a place where people are accepted just as we are, warts and all. This is where we find love and support in all the times of our lives.
Like most families we are very diverse. Some of us are conservative; some liberal. Some of us are very young; others, not so young. What holds us together is our love for one another and our love for God who we know through Jesus Christ.
We show that love in a variety of ways -- hot meals delivered to those just home from the hospital; a gentle hug on Sunday mornings. We share our laughter and tears, joys and concerns. We share that same love with the world around us with active involvement in: Shawnee Mission Meals on Wheels, which operates out of our church; Crosslines Cooperative Council in Kansas City, Kansas; Safehome; and the Argentine Baby Closet.
The core of our faith is: "Through Jesus Christ God has shown us God's love and so we love God's creation. Our love is more than words: It is action."
